The Washington County Amateur Radio Club has successfully reinstalled its 147.260 MHz repeater on the City of Brenham water tower on Lubbock Street, marking the conclusion of a three-month effort involving equipment relocation, system upgrades, and coordination with site maintenance activities. The repeater was temporarily removed earlier this year to accommodate maintenance work being performed at the tower.
During this time, members of the club’s Repeater Committee took the opportunity to make several improvements to the repeater system before returning it to service. As part of these upgrades, the original feedline was replaced with ½-inch Heliax coaxial cable, providing improved signal performance and long-term durability. In addition, the system’s duplexers were thoroughly tested and carefully adjusted to ensure optimal operation and reliability once the repeater was placed back on the air.
The Washington County Amateur Radio Club extends its sincere appreciation to the members of the Repeater Committee for their hard work and dedication throughout this project. Their efforts ensured that the system upgrades were completed successfully and that reliable repeater coverage continues to serve Amateur Radio operators throughout Washington County and the surrounding region.
